Paris has started two month long trials small electric cars that is available for hire in a car-sharing scheme. The plan is called “Autolib'” and hopes to herald a new era in transportation.
The four-seat car is a electrically driven with a top speed of 130km/h (80mph) and can travel 250 km on a single charge. It is available on yearly subscriptions and costs 144 Euros. A daily and weekly subscription costs 10 and 15 Euros respectively. Additionally, every half-hour of driving costs five Euros. Autolib' parent company, Bolloré Group, hopes run 3,000 cars by next summer.

CNG can save up to Rs. 8,000 in a month: ASSOCHAM

Due to steep rise in petrol prices, the demand for Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) has gone up from 20 to 25% a year in the Delhi region which is likely to save Rs. 6,000 to 8,000 in a month if a driver shifts from petrol to CNG, revealed the ASSOCHAM assessment.
The reasons for increasing demand of CNG are both price and efficiency. Apart from being a cleaner fuel, CNG is more economical than petrol and diesel. Running cost of vehicles reduces by up to 75% in comparison to petrol and 30% compared with the diesel.

Honda to lunch 5-door hatch back Civic at Frankfurt auto show

Honda will launch the new Civic at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Developed specifically for the European market, the Civic will be offered exclusively as a five-door hatchback and will compete in the C-segment. It will reach European showrooms in early 2012. BMW launches new X3 in India

BMW India has launched the new X3. Priced at Rs 41.2 lakh for the xDrive20d and Rs 47.9 lakh, ex-showroom, India, the new X3 replaces the previous model that was offered as the xDrive20d and xDrive25i.
The new X3 is powered by a choice of two diesel motors – the 1995cc xDrive20d with 184 bhp of peak power and 38.5 kgm of peak torque and the 2993cc xDrive30d with 258 bhp and 56.8 kgm of peak torque. Both the engines are mated to a Steptronic 8-speed automatic transmission with Auto Start Stop function.

Ford drives all new Fiesta into India

Ford launched all new Fiesta sedan with features like an intuitive human-machine interface and first-in-segment advanced bluetooth voice control in addition to anti-lock brake system, electronic brakeforce distribution, airbags and steering wheel audio controls as standard feature.
